About AWC Compact Shrink Wrappers

A compact shrink wrapper is a benchtop I-bar or L-bar sealer — a manual, operator-paced machine built for low-volume and one-off packs rather than production-line throughput. You place the product on the film, pull the sealing bar down by hand to cut and seal the film, then pass the pack under a heat gun to shrink it tight. It’s the fastest, most affordable way to get a professional, tamper-evident shrink wrap without the cost or floor space of an automatic machine.

Our range covers two sealing bar types. I-bar models use a single straight sealing bar and are available in 450mm, 600mm, and 800mm seal lengths — the wider the bar, the larger the pack you can seal in one pass. L-bar models use an L-shaped bar that cuts and seals two edges in one motion, similar in principle to our larger automatic L-bar sealers, and are available in 300mm and 450mm seal lengths.

Every model comes complete with a roll film dispenser and a heat gun, so there’s nothing extra to source before you’re ready to start wrapping. They’re rated for PVC and Polyolefin shrink film, and we stock both to match whichever machine you choose.

These machines suit gift hampers, printed stock, multimedia, confectionery, spare parts, and any small-run or one-off item that needs a clean, retail-ready finish — think one-off packaging, sample runs, or a low-volume sideline that doesn’t justify a full production line. Because the operator loads and seals each pack by hand, output is naturally lower than our L-bar sealers or automatic shrink wrappers, but for the volumes they’re built for, that trade-off is the whole point — no compressed air, minimal training, and a machine small enough to store away when it’s not in use.

On power, every model runs on a standard 240V single-phase supply, so there’s no special wiring required to get one running on your bench.

If your volumes are higher, or your pack sizes are larger or more uniform, it’s worth comparing hood shrink wrappers, L-bar sealers, and automatic shrink wrappers before deciding which type suits your operation.

Compact Shrink Wrapper FAQs

A compact shrink wrapper is a benchtop, manual I-bar or L-bar sealer built for low-volume and one-off packs. You place the product on the film, pull the sealing bar down by hand to cut and seal it, then pass the pack under a heat gun to shrink the film tight — a fast, affordable alternative to an automatic line for smaller runs.

An I-bar model uses a single straight sealing bar and is available in 450mm, 600mm, and 800mm seal lengths. An L-bar model uses an L-shaped bar that cuts and seals two edges of the film in one motion, similar in principle to our larger automatic L-bar sealers, and is available in 300mm and 450mm seal lengths.

Every compact shrink wrapper on this page is supplied complete with a roll film dispenser and a heat gun, so there’s nothing extra to source before you’re ready to start wrapping.

That depends on the seal length you choose. I-bar models run from 450mm up to 800mm, and L-bar models from 300mm up to 450mm — the seal length is the maximum width of film the machine can cut and seal in one pass.

Manual. The operator places the pack, pulls the sealing bar down by hand, and passes the sealed pack under the heat gun. It’s a lower-volume, hands-on process compared to our L-bar sealers or automatic shrink wrappers, which is exactly what makes it suited to one-off and small-batch runs.

These machines are rated for PVC and Polyolefin shrink film. We stock both to match whichever machine you choose.
